Guide: BLM interpreters
Focus: Natural history, including geology, wildflowers and cultural history
Description: Learn about this iconic rock while hiking 3.5 miles roundtrip. Each April, the Southern Oregon Land Conservancy hosts a special trip to the Table Rocks in cooperation with the BLM. After all, it was the conservation of Lower Table Rock back in 1978 that provided the groundswell of local interest in starting the Southern Oregon Land Conservancy. Please join us for this 39th anniversary hike to Lower Table Rock!
The trail is 1.75 miles long and is moderately difficult. A BLM Interpreter will share information at stops along the way. Interpretation includes geology - the formation of the Table Rocks, conservation, history, and the flora and fauna found alongside the trail. Expect singing birds, beautiful flowers, and outstanding views. We will eat lunch on top and return down the trail to the cars by 1:00pm.
Limit: 25
Meeting Location: Meet at the Lower Table Rock Trailhead. Directions will be emailed upon registration.
Difficulty: The 3.5 mile hike (up to the top and back down) roundtrip trail is moderately difficult. Water is not available along the trail or at the trailhead. Allow approximately 4 hours for a round trip hike. A restroom is available at trailhead.
