SOLC Staff Highlights

August gives warm welcomes, fond farewells and our sincerest "Congratulations" to the remarkable Staff of SOLC.

We’re pleased to welcome our new Development Director, to salute the longstanding work of our departing Stewardship Manager, and to congratulate the staff member moving into that position.

SOLC’s new Development Director, Serina Pori, comes from a lifetime exploring the outdoors in Southern Oregon and brings six years’ experience in development with Family Solutions of Jackson and Josephine Counties, and prior to that three years’ work in youth outreach with the Maslow Project.  She is passionate about increasing community connection to the people and causes which make Oregon such a wonderful place to live and thrive.

""Our region remains beautiful and wild. I am honored to take part in ensuring that generations I will never know will be able to stand on the protected lands where I stand and experience the majesty of our world. The scope of SOLC's work is rapidly growing and I'm eager to use my skills to prepare us for tomorrow's opportunities."- Serina Pori"

Stewardship manager Lyndia Hammer is moving on after five years with SOLC, handling preserve management, conservation easement monitoring, and resolving occasional violations with grace and commitment. Lyndia also served as our first fleet manager. She’ll be working on stewardship and outreach programs with Pacific Forest Trust, primarily on their Mt. Ashland Demonstration Forest. Rebekah Bergkoetter will step up to become Stewardship Manager.
