Rogue River Preserve Walkabout

REGISTRATION will open on March 28 at 6am.

Guide: Della Merrill

Focus: Exploration and discovery

Description: This outing is for folks who’ve never been to the Preserve or have only seen a little of it. We’ll explore its outer limits including a peek into the magical floodplain forest, wandering through the oak savanna, and enjoying a bag lunch by the spectacular Rogue River with our Membership Director and fun maker, Della Merrill.

Southern Oregon Land Conservancy is in the final stages of purchasing and conserving this iconic 352-acre parcel along the Rogue River. For more information on this initiative go to our Heart of the Rogue webpage.

Limit: 15

Meeting Location: Meet in White City to carpool to the Preserve near Dodge Bridge County Park in Eagle Point. Exact meeting location and directions will be emailed upon registration.

Difficulty: We will be walking for about 2 hours covering 2-3 miles on moderate and relatively flat roads, trails, and off-trail. Weed seeds, ticks and poison oak may be present so long pants are advised. A portable toilet is available at the preserve.
