Focus: Butterflies
Description: Learn how to safely catch and identify butterflies with educators Kathleen Donham and Linda Kappen on this special property along the Rogue River while helping us update our butterfly list. This event is perfect for beginners, kids welcome. Bring a butterfly net, if you have one, and water, snacks, lunch, sunblock, and layers.
Linda hosts a butterfly garden at Applegate Elementary School and shares her enthusiasm and knowledge of butterflies with her students and local groups. Kathleen has researched pollination ecology and is a SOLC board member. Southern Oregon Land Conservancy is in the process of purchasing this beautiful 352-acre property.

Meeting Location: Meet in Eagle Point; could set up carpools from Ashland or Medford if requested. Directions will be emailed upon registration.
Difficulty: Slow-paced walking on generally flat ground on roads, trails and off-trail. Weed seeds and ticks may be present so long pants are advised. A portable toilet is available at the preserve.
