Conservation Stewardship - Annual Monitoring
After a conservation agreement is placed on a property, the Land Conservancy is obligated to ensure that the terms of the agreement are upheld by monitoring the property every year thereafter. Monitoring entails making an annual visit to the property accompanied by the landowner. During these visits, staff evaluates compliance with the conservation agreement terms and consults with the landowner on future management decisions. This is a vital part of stewardship and strengthens the relationship between the landowner and the Land Conservancy.
